I was mesmerized by the waves the different layers made when the glass was moved

The compartment was small. Small as in one bedroom apartment closet small. Three metal bunks stuck out of one side of the compartment and a closet and sink were on the other. Barely enough room for a person to walk between them.

The person I was traveling with, myself, and this Korean kid were in the compartment. I looked up at the Korean kid who had just tapped on my leg and mumbled "What?"

He held his hand over his nose and mouth and said in bad english, "Your nose, it's too much"

I guess I woke him up with my snoring.

I said sorry, rolled over, as much as I could in the tiny bunk, and went back to sleep.

He woke me two more times that night with the same complaint.

I have always known that I snore fairly loud. I often wake myself in the night. Not really all that fun to deal with for others. There are 4 Australians out there who can attest to my snoring powers. Apparently they all took turns going to the Hostel Lobby and getting ear plugs the joyous night that we shared.

Regardless of the impact on others, I have gotten used to it. Yeah I sometimes notice it, but once asleep even a freight train crashing through the room would have trouble waking me.

What I didn't know is that apparently I stop breathing for long periods of time. Then suddenly gasp for air. Now this is a bit more than a minor nuisance. This is Sleep Apnea. I will soon have this looked at

Amusing side note. We arrived in Prague the next morning at about 8:00. The conductor woke us about half an hour beforehand. Enough time to get cleaned up and re-packed. As we were leaving the train I glanced in the door to our cabin and noticed that our co-passenger was still asleep in his bunk. I guess he was finally able to get some rest.

I plan to write a trip log of sorts on this site. Soon, very soon.

Also, integrating back into US life has been interesting. A few notes:

1) Available food items do not sound appealing since the return. Not that I am no longer hungry. I just don't want the typical american food anymore. I need the little cafe with baguette sandwiches and "le big cappuccino".

2) Portions are HUGE here. I tried to eat a foot long subway sub, and failed. Odd.

3) I am soo happy to be back where ICE and REFRIGERATION are common. They don't use either over there.

4) Cars suck. We need good trains, and scooters and bicycles.

5) The term "Too Humid" is relative. I am glad to be back for that reason alone.

Back from the eurotrip. Tired, sore, worn out, but in good mood. It was fun. There are many things I would do different next time... there will be a next time. But overall a good trip.

Now I go drive my car!!!!!!!!!!!!

And finish laundry and cleanse the eurofilm off of my posessions.

The transfer from Praha to Venezia was sheer hell. And spendy too. Won't go into it much here as I only have 7 minutes left. But lets just say that at one point there were sparks flying off a plane wing and I think taxi driver was really mafia or something. woo hoo.

Anyway we are in the land of spendiness and humidity to kill a cat. But I have my bottle of wine and am going to go make happy.

bye bye prague. hello venice. tired. worn out. but having fun. we have mastered the art of bus/tram/cab rides to no where. quite sad but interesting at the same time.

OH and they do not have mochas here. I thought I was going to die, but cappucino's are quite tasty.

James Brown is visiting prague soon apparently. But nothing beats the Falco meets Amadeus posters that were all over Munich. Oh and also Saturday Night Fever the Musical. Then there was A Night With Queen: The Musical as well. I wasn't sure whether to think that rocked, or was scary.....

many many photos taken. I have already filled a 512 sd card. still have the 256. I hope that is enough for the rest of the trip because our offloading on the road scheme has failed due to the prevalance of Win95 & 98 in europe.
